A community garden has the potential to contribute in many ways to the
health and well being of those who work in it, or simply enjoy its presence in
the neighbourhood. It can be a safe and
beautiful “green space”, where people grow fresh, organic produce, herbs and
flowers, as well as many types of trees.
There is usually a combination of privately held plots and shared common
areas where people can garden, meet for social events or just enjoy a quiet
moment. Also, a community garden is a
contributor to food security and better nutrition. The garden will provide a
place for people in this densely
populated area to grow their own food, get together with like-minded neighbors
or to just sit under an apple tree and watch the birds. The possibilities are endless, and limited
only by the imagination and creativity of those who participate in the vision.
“Help us to be the always hopeful gardeners of the
spirit who know that
without darkness nothing comes to birth, as without light nothing flowers.”
~ May Sarton

looks like we are in need of repleneshing some of the lost or broken tools from the past year(s) and need to aquire
